Setting out and construction control
We transfer the geometry of the project to the ground and check that what has been built is where it should be. On a hillside villa or an industrial building, a shifted axis or a wrong level is paid for later. We organise the visits by phase and record in writing what has been marked and what has been measured.
From the drawing to a usable reference on site
An error in an axis or a level carries through to everything that comes after it. Before setting out we check that we have the latest revision of the drawings, their coordinates and the available control stations. Construction control detects geometric differences and documents them, so that the site management can decide with data and in good time.
When we are involved
- When marking out foundations, alignments, retaining walls and site infrastructure.
- Transferring levels, gradients and construction heights.
- Before closing phases that will later be hidden.
- On completing work units that need an as-built survey.
What we do on site
We establish or check the setting-out control stations and use a total station, GNSS or levelling depending on the precision each element requires. We mark the references, record the checks and measure what has been built within the agreed scope. The tolerances are set by the project or by the site management team (dirección facultativa); we measure and tell you whether they are met.
Questions about Setting out and construction control
Can you come just for a one-off setting out?
Yes. We need to know what has to be marked and to have the current drawings before confirming the visit.
What happens if the drawings change?
The new revision has to be identified and we need to see which references are affected. A point set out from an earlier drawing is not reused without checking it.
Are setting out and control the same job?
No. Setting out marks where each element should go; control measures where it has ended up and compares it with the project. They can be contracted together or separately.
